2022 Wedding Hair Trends Part I
February 14, 2022By Andy Tseng
Just like all fashion trends, wedding hair trends come and go from year to year. After going through all the COVID restrictions the last couple of years, brides are going for a more relaxed and effortless look, yet still keeping it classy and timeless. Here are some of the hottest wedding trends in 2022.
ROMANTIC LONG BRAIDS
Continuing the wedding hair trend from last year, braids are still in. From loose bridal crown braided to the soft French braids to the side, to half up half down wedding hairstyles with braids, and even more to combined many different braids into a giant warrior-like braid that pops to attention (see photos below). There are so many creative ways we can incorporate into your wedding hair on the wedding day. Mini braids can be added to sleek wedding hairstyles, giving it the classic look with a modern twist.
MODERN PONYTAILS
We’re starting to see a lot more ponytail styling options from last year, and the trend it’s only getting better. Wedding ponytails can be incorporated with more textures and add-on hair extensions to give a fuller and longer look. It’s perfect for brides who have shorter-length hair that want to adventure out and create a different style on their wedding day. This style is very versatile. The wedding hairstyle gives a youthful and lively vibe when it is placed above the occipital bone, and it gives a modernized sophisticated feel when is placed lower closer to the neck (see reference photos below).
LOOSE CURLS
Loose curls add softness to the style and yet it can still be classic. These curls can be tousled curls or waves. They can be incorporated with either up or down wedding hairstyles. Well-textured curls not only add depth, movements, and interesting elements to the classic wedding updos or any wedding hairstyles, they can also be tailored to frame your face. For brides who are looking for something that’s not a sleek wedding hairstyle nor a complete hair down hairstyle, should consider some fabulous loose curls.
Although it’s fun to keep up with the trend, I personally believe choosing the best hairstyle should start with analyzing the bride’s features and the silhouette of the wedding gown first. The bride’s wedding hairstyle should complement and frame the face to make her look and feel her best.
